This photo was taken during a sunrise lava boat tour on the Big Island of Hawaii.  The photo on the home page and in the background was also taken during the boat tour but before the sun had risen.  The glow is the 2000 degree F. lava hitting the ocean.

 

A hundred yards away the water was as warm as a hot tub!
